Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Cosmo Arena ("we", "us"). By creating an account or playing the game — in a browser or in the Android app — you accept them. If you do not, do not use the game.
1. Who may play
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only play with the permission of a parent or guardian. Cosmo Arena includes live chat with other players; that is the reason for the age limit.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. You may not share, sell, buy or transfer an account, and you may not use another person's account. Pick a callsign that is yours to use: impersonating another player, a real person, or us, is not allowed, and neither are callsigns that break the community rules.
You can delete your account at any time, from inside the game or from this page. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or the community rules — see section 5.
3. The game itself
Cosmo Arena is free. There is nothing to buy, no currency, no loot boxes and no advertising. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play it. We keep ownership of the game, its code, art, sounds, models and name.
You may not:
- cheat, exploit bugs, or use modified clients, bots, automation or anything that gives you an advantage the game does not offer everyone;
- attack, overload, probe or interfere with our servers, or with other players' connections;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the game, except where the law says you may regardless of this clause;
- use the game or its data to build a competing service, or to scrape or harvest player information.
Balance changes, new ships, removed features and reset ladders are part of a live game. We may change or discontinue any part of it, including wiping ratings between seasons.
4. Chat and player content
Anything you type in chat is your content, and you are responsible for it. By sending it you grant us the right to transmit it to other players and to store it for the period described in the privacy policy, for moderation.
You agree not to send content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, defamatory, deceptive, illegal, or spam. The full list is in the community rules, which form part of these terms.
Zero tolerance for abusive content. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Chat is filtered automatically; every player can block and report any other player from their name; and reports are reviewed, with content removed and offending accounts muted or removed. Reports are acted on within 24 hours.
Blocking is available to every player at any time, from the lobby roster, the in-match player list, or any chat line. A blocked player can no longer see your messages, and you no longer see theirs.
5. Moderation, mutes and suspensions
Breaking the rules costs you chat first and the account after. Our automatic filter blocks prohibited language and issues temporary mutes for repeated attempts. A moderator reviewing a report may mute an account, suspend it from online play, or remove it entirely. We aim to review every report within 24 hours.
If you believe a decision was wrong, write to hello@cosmoarena.co and we will look at it again. Serious cases — threats, sexual content involving minors, or coordinated harassment — are removed immediately and permanently, and may be reported to law enforcement.
6. Availability
The game is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available at any particular time, that matches will be free of lag, or that it will be free of bugs. We may take servers down for maintenance without notice.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Cosmo Arena is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost ratings or lost time. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for a free game is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always at this address with its date at the top, and material changes will be announced in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new version.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
